Harit Urja Mission (HUM) is an independent, vendor-neutral solar knowledge resource for India — free calculators, plain-language scheme guidance, state subsidy pages, datasheet-verified product reviews and a supply-chain directory, for homeowners, housing societies, MSMEs, engineers and procurement teams.

How we stay neutral
- No manufacturer, installer or vendor can pay for a score, a ranking or a place on a page.
- There are no affiliate links and no sponsored reviews.
- We do not sell solar systems or take commissions on installations. We are not an EPC, installer or distributor.
- HUM is currently free to use. If we ever introduce a commercial relationship that could affect what you read, we will disclose it on the pages it affects before it goes live — never quietly.
How we work
- We are not a laboratory. Product figures come from manufacturer datasheets and are labelled as such; we never present a number as a test we did not run. Our scoring is set out in the review methodology.
- Policy facts are dated and sourced. Subsidy, net-metering and ALMM information carries an “as of” date and a prompt to confirm with your DISCOM, state agency or MNRE, because rules change.
- We correct our mistakes in public. When newer information supersedes something we published, we fix the page and say so — see, for example, the correction note on our net metering by state guide.
