Azimuth
Azimuth is the compass direction panels face. In India — entirely in the northern hemisphere — true south (180°) maximises annual generation; east or west orientations lose roughly 15–20%.
Small deviations (±20–30° from south) cost only a few percent, so a slightly off-south roof is rarely a deal-breaker. East–west layouts are sometimes chosen deliberately to flatten the generation curve.
