Tilt Angle

Tilt angle is the inclination of panels from horizontal. The year-round optimum approximately equals the site’s latitude — about 19° in Mumbai, 28° in Delhi — facing true south anywhere in India.

Below ~10° tilt, rain stops self-cleaning the modules and soiling losses climb. Fixed tilt at latitude captures 96–98% of what seasonal adjustment would, which is why most rooftops rightly skip adjustable structures.
