Solar DC Cable

Solar DC cables are UV-resistant, double-insulated copper cables (commonly 4 or 6 mm²) rated for outdoor DC service between panels and inverter. Undersized cable wastes generation as heat every day for 25 years.

Design practice caps DC voltage drop at 2%, which sets the minimum cross-section for a given current and cable run. Indian installations follow IS 694/IEC 62930-class cables with MC4 connectors.
