LCOE (Levelised Cost of Energy)

LCOE is the lifetime cost of a power plant divided by its lifetime generation — the per-unit cost of energy it produces. Indian rooftop solar LCOE typically lands around ₹2.5–4 per unit, far below commercial grid tariffs.

LCOE lets you compare solar against grid power or between design options on one number. It is sensitive to discount rate, degradation, and O&M assumptions — always state them.
