Payback Period
Payback period is the time for cumulative electricity savings to equal the system’s cost. Indian rooftop solar typically pays back in 3–5 years against a 25-year productive life.
Honest payback maths uses realistic generation (not datasheet peaks), your actual tariff slab, and net-of-subsidy cost. After payback, generation is effectively free power for two more decades.
