Sanctioned Load
Sanctioned load is the maximum power (in kW) your electricity connection is contractually approved to draw, printed on your bill. Many states cap rooftop solar capacity at or near the sanctioned load.
If your desired system exceeds sanctioned load, you may first need a load enhancement from the DISCOM. Check this number before finalising system size — it is a frequent surprise in the application process.
