BIS Certification (IS 14286)

BIS certification is the mandatory Bureau of Indian Standards approval for solar modules sold in India, primarily under IS 14286 (design qualification) and IS/IEC 61730 (safety). Uncertified modules cannot legally be sold.

BIS registration numbers are printed on the module label and verifiable online. The corresponding international standards are IEC 61215 (performance) and IEC 61730 (safety) — export-grade modules carry both.
