PID (Potential Induced Degradation)

PID is a gradual power loss caused by voltage stress between solar cells and the grounded frame, historically capable of degrading affected panels by tens of percent. Modern PID-resistant modules largely prevent it.

Heat and humidity accelerate PID — relevant to Indian coasts. Buy modules certified PID-resistant (IEC 62804 tested) and ensure correct system grounding; severe cases are recoverable with anti-PID devices.
