Tier-1 Manufacturer

Tier-1 is a bankability ranking (originated by BloombergNEF) for module manufacturers whose products have been financed by major banks in utility-scale projects. It signals financial stability, not directly product quality.

Tier-1 status matters because a 25-year warranty is only as good as the company’s survival. In India, pair the Tier-1 check with ALMM listing and the specific model’s BIS/IEC certificates.
