MNRE

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the Government of India ministry that frames solar policy, administers subsidy schemes, and maintains quality gates like the ALMM list.

MNRE sets scheme rules and standards; implementation on the ground runs through state nodal agencies and DISCOMs. Its notifications (ALMM updates, scheme amendments) are the primary source for policy changes.
