Vmp (Maximum Power Voltage)

Vmp is the voltage at which a panel delivers its maximum power — typically 41–45 V for current modules. Hot afternoons pull Vmp down, and the string’s combined Vmp must stay inside the inverter’s MPPT window.

Too few panels in a string and summer Vmp sags below the MPPT minimum, collapsing generation precisely at peak sun. This is the "minimum modules per string" constraint in proper design.
