SOLARMAN — LSW-3 Wi-Fi stick logger
A small RS232 Wi-Fi dongle that puts an inverter on a cloud app — with a thin spec sheet and no stated certifications or compatible-inverter list.
Reviewed 6 October 2026
A stick logger is a small plug-in module that reads an inverter’s data and sends it to a monitoring cloud over Wi-Fi, so you can see generation on a phone. SOLARMAN’s LSW-3 is the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi model with an external antenna, powered at DC 5–12 V and drawing 1.5 W, with an IP65 rating and an operating range of −30 °C to +70 °C.
Its data interface is RS232, and the maker’s product page lists three heartbeat indicator lights and an AP+STA working mode (the dongle can broadcast its own set-up network while joined to your router). The default storage is a 2 MB flash.
The product page is the whole public specification we found, and it leaves real questions open: it lists no supported inverter brands, no certifications, no warranty and no app details. If you are buying one, the compatibility answer has to come from your inverter’s manual or its supplier.
For Installers & Engineers
Deeper technical detail beyond the homeowner-facing summary above.
LSW-3 is one of several SOLARMAN stick loggers on the same page. The newer LSW-6 and LSW-Mini list Wi-Fi 6, 2 W consumption, 8 MB storage and USB/RS485/RS232/TTL interfaces, while the LS4G-6-G adds 4G. The LSW-3 offers only RS232 and 2 MB, so check which interface your inverter’s logger port expects before buying.
Local monitoring over Wi-Fi depends on signal strength at the inverter location, which is often a utility area or terrace far from the router. The external antenna helps; a Wi-Fi extender is the usual fix.
A cloud logger sends your generation data to the manufacturer’s servers. For a home that is usually acceptable, but read the monitoring platform’s privacy terms, especially for a commercial site.
Logging is only as useful as the alerts you act on. A logger that quietly shows a dead inverter for three days costs real units; set up notifications.
The Scorecard
How we scoreStandards & Safety Compliance
No safety, EMC or radio certifications are stated on the page; IP65 is the only standard-style claim.
Build Quality & Durability
IP65 and a wide temperature range are sensible for an outdoor dongle; no durability or life data is given.
Fit & Ease of Use
Plug-in, external antenna and an AP+STA set-up mode are convenient, but it only supports RS232 and 2.4 GHz.
Documentation, Warranty & Support
The page gives basic electrical data but no compatibility list, warranty or app description, so the buyer must verify everything with the inverter supplier.
Value for Money

Strengths
- IP65 rating and a −30 °C to +70 °C operating range suit outdoor inverter locations
- Low 1.5 W power draw and a simple plug-in installation
- External Wi-Fi antenna and AP+STA mode for easier set-up
- Part of a family with newer Wi-Fi 6 and 4G models if you need more
Watch-outs
- RS232 only and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only — confirm it matches your inverter’s logger port and your router
- No compatible-inverter list, certifications, warranty or app details on the product page
- Cloud-based: data leaves your premises, and the service depends on the vendor staying online
- Buy through your inverter’s authorised channel so compatibility and support are clear; the product page names no India distributor

- Installers who need a low-cost replacement stick and have confirmed port compatibility
- Buyers who will set up alert notifications and check them
Our Verdict
A basic, outdoor-rated Wi-Fi logger that does its job if your inverter supports it — but the public spec is thin. Treat compatibility, warranty and authenticity as questions for your inverter supplier, and turn on the alerts.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a solar stick logger do?
It plugs into the inverter, reads its generation and fault data, and sends it over Wi-Fi to a cloud service so you can monitor the plant on a phone or browser.
Will the SOLARMAN LSW-3 work with my inverter?
The maker’s product page does not list compatible inverters. It has an RS232 interface only, so check your inverter’s manual for the logger port type and supported dongles.
Is the LSW-3 waterproof?
The product page lists an IP65 rating and an operating range of −30 °C to +70 °C.
