3.5of 5 · our score

Solis’s S6-EH1P(3–8)K-L-PLUS is a single-phase, low-voltage energy-storage inverter for lithium or lead-acid batteries. The 6K model has a 6,000 W rating, a 40–60 V battery port with up to 135 A of charge/discharge current (6 kW), 6,000 W of backup output and a backup switch time below 4 ms. It also supports a generator, dual backup ports (critical and non-critical loads), parallel microgrid operation and 200% overload for 10 seconds.

It is the better fit than the Sungrow SH5.0RS-20 for the batteries most Indian homes buy: the 40–60 V range matches 48 V LFP packs such as the Pylontech US5000 and Luminous Helios, and lead-acid is listed too. In exchange, it is less efficient on paper: 96.2% maximum, 94.7% European, with separate battery paths of 95.3% (PV to battery), 94.5% (AC to battery) and 94.9% (battery to AC) — an unusually transparent set of figures.

The datasheet we read is labelled “Preliminary” and was a distributor-hosted copy, and several table cells list two values without saying which applies to which model, so we publish only the values that are unambiguous for the 6K. It lists NRS 097-2-1, IEC 62116 and IEC 61727 plus the Thai MEA/PEA utility standards, but no India-specific approval, no warranty term, and integrated AFCI 2.0 as optional.

For Installers & Engineers

Deeper technical detail beyond the homeowner-facing summary above.

PV side: maximum input voltage 500 V, rated 330 V, start-up 90 V, MPPT window 90–435 V, 2 trackers. “Recommended max. PV array size” for the 6K is 12 kW, but the maximum usable PV input power is 9.6 kW — design to the usable figure. The per-input current and string counts shown in the table are given as two values we could not match to a model, so we do not quote them.

Battery side: 40–60 V, CAN/RS485, lithium or lead-acid, 135 A and 6 kW for the 6K. A 6 kW inverter paired with a single 4.8–5.12 kWh battery would drain it in under an hour at full power, so battery capacity — not inverter size — decides backup duration.

Backup: 6,000 W rated output, twice that for 10 s, a switch time below 4 ms, maximum AC pass-through 40 A, and dual backup ports so non-critical loads can be shed.

Efficiency of 96.2% maximum / 94.7% European is below the 97.6% of the Deye SG04LP1 we reviewed, but Solis publishes the battery-path efficiencies the others omit, so the datasheets are not strictly comparable.

IP66, −40 °C to +60 °C, 3,000 m altitude, 335 × 560 × 227 mm, MC4 plug on the PV port and terminal block on the battery port, LCD plus Bluetooth app, and optional Wi-Fi, GPRS or LAN.

The Scorecard

How we score

Conversion Efficiency

3.5

96.2% maximum and 94.7% European are below the best hybrids we reviewed, offset by published per-path battery efficiencies.

Reliability & Build

4.0

IP66, −40 °C to +60 °C, 200% overload, <4 ms switchover and a generator input are strong; AFCI is optional and the datasheet is preliminary.

Monitoring & Software

3.5

LCD, Bluetooth and an app as standard, with Wi-Fi, GPRS or LAN as options.

Service Network & Support

3.0

No warranty term or India service route is on the preliminary datasheet, and the final datasheet needs to be obtained.

Who It’s For

  • Homes with (or planning) a 48 V LFP battery bank who want high charge/discharge power and fast backup switching
  • Sites with generators or sensitive loads that benefit from dual backup ports
  • Buyers who will obtain the final (non-preliminary) datasheet and India certificates before ordering

Our Verdict

A well-matched 48 V-class hybrid for Indian battery choices, with fast backup switching and strong environmental ratings. Its datasheet is preliminary and its efficiency is lower than rivals’ headline figures, so get the final datasheet, the warranty term and India certificates before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which batteries work with the Solis S6-EH1P6K-L-PLUS?

It has a 40–60 V battery port and lists Li-ion and lead-acid, so 48 V-class LFP packs and lead-acid banks fit. Confirm your exact battery on Solis’s approved list.

How fast does the Solis hybrid switch to backup?

The datasheet lists a backup switch time of under 4 ms, with 6,000 W rated backup output and 200% (twice rated) for 10 seconds.

Is the Solis S6-EH1P6K-L-PLUS as efficient as other hybrids?

Its listed maximum is 96.2% (94.7% European), lower than the headline figures on the Deye and Sungrow hybrids we reviewed, but Solis also publishes battery-path efficiencies, so the datasheets are not strictly like-for-like.
