Unger — nLITE HiFlo ALU water-fed poles (AN60G master, AN30G extension)

A professional water-fed pole system for cleaning modules from the ground — with a published weight and length, and solar-specific guidance that sits on a different page from the product.

Reviewed 6 October 2026 · verdict on public record, hard specs awaiting a sourced feed

3.3of 5 · our score

A water-fed pole lets a cleaner wash modules from a distance with a brush on the end of a telescopic pole, with water pumped up through it. Unger’s nLITE HiFlo ALU range includes a 6 m (20 ft) master pole (part AN60G, 4.8 lb / about 2.2 kg) and a 3 m (10 ft) extension (AN30G, 2.5 lb / about 1.1 kg), in aluminium, with a quick-release tool mechanism and integrated hose management.

The product page positions the poles for commercial buildings and gives no solar-specific data or warranty. Unger’s separate solar-cleaning page fills in the context: it lists the HydroPower Ultra Professional Kit (55 ft) and a Nano pure-water system, nLITE carbon poles up to 30 ft and two brushes for PV surfaces (a Hybrid and a Power brush), and states that “solar panel manufacturers recommend the use of distilled or de-ionized water”.

That last point is worth taking seriously on its own: hard or mineral-rich water leaves deposits as it dries, and hard water is common in many parts of India. Follow your module manufacturer’s cleaning guidance and check what water the kit is designed to use before choosing a pole system.

For Installers & Engineers

Deeper technical detail beyond the homeowner-facing summary above.

Cleaning guidance and the product are separate: the specs we could read (length, weight, material) say nothing about brush stiffness, pressure or suitability for a specific module coating. Check the module datasheet or manufacturer’s cleaning instructions before choosing a brush.

Unger publishes a dedicated safety page for cleaning solar panels, and the solar page asks users to follow it. A long aluminium pole is electrically conductive, and water near live DC and AC equipment is a hazard; keep clear of overhead lines and follow the maker’s safety guidance.

The solar page lists carbon poles up to 30 ft for ground-level work; the product page we read for the aluminium poles lists 6 m and 3 m sections. Reach on a sloped roof or a raised ground-mount depends on the angle and your own position, so do not equate pole length with cleaning reach.

We read a single brush product page (the nLITE angle brush, 28 and 41 cm, synthetic bristles) that carries a solar safety notice; the solar-specific Hybrid and Power brushes are named but their specifications were not on the pages we read.

We do not have information on Unger’s India distribution, pure-water system availability or service, so treat this as a reference for how a professional system is specified rather than a ready buying recommendation.

The Scorecard

How we score

Standards & Safety Compliance

—

Not assessed — no safety standard or certification is stated for the poles on the pages we read.

Build Quality & Durability

3.5

Lightweight aluminium with quick-release and hose management is sensible, but no durability or load data is published.

Fit & Ease of Use

3.5

Ground-based, pure-water cleaning avoids roof access, but needs water-purification kit and trained use near live equipment.

Documentation, Warranty & Support

3.0

The maker publishes solar-cleaning and safety guidance, but the product page has no warranty or solar data and no India route is shown.

Value for Money

—

Not assessed — no India price found.

Strengths

  • Published part numbers, lengths (6 m / 3 m) and weights (4.8 lb / 2.5 lb) for the aluminium poles
  • Lightweight aluminium with quick-release tool changes and integrated hose management
  • Solar-cleaning guidance and a dedicated safety page from the maker
  • A defined pure-water approach (de-ionised water) recommended for PV cleaning

Watch-outs

  • The pole product page lists no solar-specific data and no warranty
  • Aluminium pole plus water near live equipment: follow the maker’s safety guidance
  • Brush specifications for the solar brushes were not on the pages we read
  • No India price, distributor or service information found

Who It’s For

  • Commercial and industrial rooftops where a cleaning contractor wants a ground-based, pure-water system
  • O&M managers specifying the equipment cleaning contractors should bring
  • Not a typical household purchase — a professional system with pure-water equipment

Our Verdict

A credible professional reference for ground-based module cleaning, but the product data we could read is thin and the safety and water-quality guidance matters more than the pole. Treat it as a specification benchmark for what a cleaning contractor should bring, and check your module maker’s cleaning rules first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What water should be used to clean solar panels?

Unger states that solar panel manufacturers recommend distilled or de-ionised water, because mineral deposits from hard water can build up on the glass. Check your module maker’s cleaning guidance.

How long are Unger nLITE aluminium poles?

The master pole (AN60G) is 6 m (20 ft) and the extension (AN30G) is 3 m (10 ft), weighing 4.8 lb and 2.5 lb respectively according to Unger’s page.

Is it safe to clean live solar panels with a water-fed pole?

Water and a conductive pole near live equipment is a hazard. Unger publishes a dedicated safety page for solar cleaning; follow it and your plant’s own safety procedures.
